KAAÅS TRIO & MARI PALO

KAAÅS Trio plays chamber music with soprano Mari Palo at Oulu Music Festival 18.3.2023, 19:00, Tulindberg hall.

KAAÅS is a piano trio of three talented musicians. The trio includes violinist Annemarie Åström, cellist Ulla Lampela and pianist Tiina Karakorpi.

The activities of the KAAÅS trio reflect the interests of its members, and together the trio has been able to plan their activities without prejudice. They e.g. made the first recording of Helvi Leiviskä's piano trio, commissioned a piano trio from Matthew Whitall and studied improvisation with Matthew Barley.

The players of the KAAÅS trio are happy to return to Clara Schumann's fine piano trio. When she composed the piano trio, 27-year-old Clara was a mother of four children who had just gone through difficult life stages. 

The players of the KAAÅS trio are excited to be able to perform two songs from Beach in Oulu, op. 100 with soprano Mari Palo.

The name of the KAAÅS trio describes their life situations in the founding year. All of them had small children at home and it was important for the trio to realise the chaotic nature of life together.
